The actress and director says she was "basically running on caffeine and adrenaline" while filming her new movie
Dakota Johnson has admitted that she "basically overdosed" on caffeine while filming her directorial debut, Loser Baby. The actress and director, who is the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, says she needed all the caffeine she could get to keep up with the demands of her new role.
"I was basically running on caffeine and adrenaline," Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter. "I was so nervous and so excited, and I just wanted to do a good job." Johnson says she was particularly nervous about directing her first film because she had never done it before.
"I was so scared," she said. "I didn't know what I was doing. But I had an amazing cast and crew, and they really helped me."
Loser Baby is a comedy-drama about a young woman who is trying to find her place in the world. The film stars Johnson, as well as Jessie Buckley, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
The film is set to be released in theaters on March 3, 2023.
