DPI, CPI, and Mouse Sensitivity
What is DPI and CPI?
When you press the CPI button on a mouse, you adjust its sensitivity settings. CPI (counts per inch) or DPI (dots per inch) determines how far the cursor moves on-screen compared to the physical movement detected by the mouse sensor. A higher CPI means the cursor will move further on-screen for the same amount of physical movement.
How DPI and CPI Affect Mouse Sensitivity
A mouse's CPI represents the number of steps or dots registered by the mouse sensor for every inch the mouse is moved physically on the mousepad or desk. So, a mouse with a CPI of 1000 will move the cursor 1000 pixels on the screen when the mouse is physically moved one inch.
