Former Manager Departs After Less Than Two Years In Charge

Antonio Conte Leaves Tottenham Hotspur by Mutual Consent

Former manager departs after less than two years in charge

Conte joined the club in November 2021

Tottenham Hotspur has announced that manager Antonio Conte has left the club by mutual consent. Conte was appointed head coach in November 2021, signing an 18-month deal to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo.

During his time in charge, Conte helped Tottenham qualify for the Champions League for the first time since the 2019/20 season. He also led the team to victory in the 2021/22 EFL Cup semi-final, before losing to Chelsea in the final.

In a statement, Tottenham said: "We should like to thank Antonio for his services to the club. We wish him all the best for the future."

Conclusion

Conte's departure comes as a surprise, given that he only signed a new contract with Tottenham in November. However, it has been reported that he had been unhappy with the club's transfer policy and lack of ambition.

Tottenham will now be on the lookout for a new manager, with former Juventus boss Max Allegri and current Roma boss Jose Mourinho among the favourites to replace Conte.
